growing up

Sydney's newest trick: She stands! She obviously has the ottoman for back support, but she has pretty strong little legs and good balance.

She has also learned to hold her own bottle, which has been a life-saver SO many times.

serious catch up

here are some random pictures from the last month.

                                                                   Girl's night out!

Christian's favorite thing to do with Sydney: make a pallet on the floor and read books or                watch a movie. They do it often.

couldn't love her more

I love this baby girl. Thank you to Kate for snapping this picture. It's one of my very favorite. This was taken at London's 1st birthday party.  Definitely the cutest 1st birthday party I've ever been to.

san diego zoo

First of all, I love giraffes. I think they are the coolest animal ever.

Moving on..

Britni, Ashley and their boys came down from Laguna last tuesday to go to the zoo with Sydney, London and me. It was an awesome experience. It was the first time I've ever been to the SD Zoo and I've always heard it was something that I had to do. I can now happily check it off my list.

How cute is Ashley? Are you kidding me? She is 6 months pregnant, by the way. You can't even TELL. It is just simply not fair. But I love her so much that I think she deserves it.
                                                     Sydney LOVES ashley. A lot.
This is such and Ashley face that I just had to throw it in here.

Sydney and I were lucky enough to steel London for the day and take her to the zoo with us. It was my first experience as a mom of two. Luckily, these two girls were nearly PERFECT all day.

I was using Kate's stroller (London's mom) and Sydney was too small for the sitting straight up seat and London wasn't loving sitting in the back and not being able to see so much. So, I figured out that if Sydney could fit in the luggage carrier, she would be happy to lay down. It worked like a charm. However, as soon as people would spot Sydney down below, they would give me "what an abusive mother you are" look. It was pretty funny. Despite the looks, I couldn't have been more proud of myself for figuring this situation out.

It was a great day at the zoo!

recent family time

This past winter/spring we have seen a lot of our family and it has been so nice. These are a few pictures from some of the visits.
Christian's parents came for Easter weekend and we had so much fun. We went to Del Mar for dinner one night, the Torrey Pines driving range (while Jeannine babysat Sydney), Balboa park, talked about wedding plans (the Pena's have two coming up!), watched a lot of Modern Family (which was amazing), and just hung out. It was so much fun to have them here!
This past weekend, Christian's cousins who live in Temecula came over on sunday night to meet Sydney. They were all so sweet with her and she had so much fun with them.
Little Jesse was adorable with Sydney. She helped me give her a bath, put her in her PJs, give her a "hair-do" and read books to her. I don't think I've ever seen anything so cute.

In march we went to Utah and spent sometime with both of our families. This was a first time meeting for Aunt Victoria and Sydney. They just loved each other. Victoria is going to be the best aunt ever.
Sydney has made Mana (Christian's Grandma) a great-grandma. Which is pretty neat. She sure is happy about it.
And these two sweet little girls behind the strollers are Sydney's angel Cousins, Anna and Allie Smoot. I couldn't love these little girls more. And the adorable little boy sitting next to Sydney is Thomas Pratt- Sydney's closest cousin in age and soon to be her BFF. This was taken at the Cabin at Alta after a long day of Skiing. How I wish I had taken more pictures from that week, because it was so much fun.

red head

These pictures are very similar to some that I just took, but there is one major difference: These pictures show that yes, in fact, my daughter has RED HAIR. I know that I have red hair, but I never thought that I would get a red head due to the fact that I married a mexican. Who knows if this red hair will last, I hope it will, but even if it doesn't, this is proof that she once had it. You can all say what you will about red heads with hot-tempers, but this red head is perfectly sweet and happy and completely lovable.
