I love three day weekends. I woke up this morning and thought, "uh, its monday. sad." and then I realized, "No! It's tuesday! This is going to be the best week ever." And that is only one of the reasons why I love three day weekends.
We started the weekend off with dinner and movie. We are trying to take advantage of Sydney's age and the fact that she will almost sleep anywhere. We put her in her PJ's, swaddled her, gave her a bottle as the movie started, and she fell asleep and she didn't wake up until the next morning. It was great. I realize these days will be coming to end real soon here and it makes me anxious to get it all in while we can. Anyway, we went to see Water For Elephants, which I actually liked a lot.
On saturday we went to the beach and then we attended Daxton's "cops and robbers" 1st birthday party. About 20 minutes before the party started, Christian and I were taking a nap. Waking up from a dead sleep, his first words:
Christian: "Courtney, do you have a long-sleeved black turtle neck"?
me: "yes".
Christian: "do you have black leggings"?
me: "maternity leggings."
Christian: "I have the perfect robber costume."
So Christian shows up in full spandex. Head to toe. He claimed that he was a "sophisticated ninja robber". We definitely got looks as we walked in. It was amazing.
Monday was our anniversary! We had a low-key day, but it was perfect. We went up to Laguna to meet up with Britini and Jay and some of their friends and family. We stopped at La Sirena grill to grab lunch before we headed to the beach. Kevin Bacon and his wife walked in right after us and were standing behind us in line. Christian, saw them walking in and goes, "Courtney, Kevin Bacon is walking in." I immediately reply, "Who is Kevin Bacon"? I recognized his name, but I had NO IDEA what he looked like or what he has been in. Christian was so disappointed. After we got home from the beach, Christian set up a pallet on the floor and made us watch "The river wild". And I'll be honest, I didn't love it, but I we had so much fun watching it together.
We dropped Sydney off with some of our friends last night and went to get a little sushi to celebrate 2 years! |
